There were 216 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths reported by the state for Butler County on Wednesday.
According to the Department of Health, there have now been 136 COVID-19 deaths for Butler County since the beginning of the pandemic. 58 negative test results were reported for the county.
As of Wednesday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 52 patients for the coronavirus, with 13 COVID patients in the ICU. This is an increase from Monday of 5 patients hospitalized and 3 patients in the ICU. The hospital reported one death to the state on Monday. Vaccinations for front-line caregivers are expected to begin Friday.
Statewide, there were just over 10,000 new cases, 278 additional deaths, and around 16,000 negative tests.
