There were 157 new cases of COVID-19 and nine additional deaths for Butler County on Thursday.
That marks the highest single day death total for the county since the beginning of the pandemic, and brings the county’s COVID-19 death toll to 165 according to the Department of Health.
There were 126 negative test results, giving the daily DOH update a 55.5 percent positivity rate.
As of Wednesday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 54 patients for the coronavirus, with five COVID patients in the ICU.
Statewide, there were around 9,000 new cases and 276 additional deaths.
