Mars Area School District administrators have decided to reopen schools to in-person instruction beginning Monday, January 11th.
According to Superintendent Dr. Mark Gross, this decision was made after a review of current guidance from the state Departments of Health and Education by the district’s administrative team.
All families who plan to return students for traditional instruction will be required to have students wear face masks or coverings at all times within schools and district facilities.
Individual school closings may be deemed to be necessary in the future based on the total number of positive cases or if required quarantines result in staffing shortages.
Mars students have been engaged in Live-Stream Interactive instruction since December 1st and that option will continue to be available in case of a future shutdown or for families not comfortable with a return to in-person instruction.
