There were 101 new cases of COVID-19 and seven additional deaths reported by the state for Butler County on Friday.
That now brings the death toll in the county to 278 since the beginning of the pandemic ten months ago.
As of Friday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 27 patients for the coronavirus which is nine less than Wednesday. Five COVID-19 patients are being cared for in the hospital’s ICU which is a decrease of four compared to Wednesday. The Butler Health System reported one death to the state on Tuesday, two on Wednesday, and two more on Thursday.
Statewide there were just over 6,000 new cases and 215 additional deaths, along with nearly 13,000 negative test results. Nearly 5,000 patients are hospitalized statewide with over 1,000 in the ICU.
