A group of horses are reportedly doing “remarkably well” following a vehicle accident yesterday on I-79.
It happened just after 1 p.m. in the northbound lane near the Route 228 exit when a vehicle towing a trailer of horses was involved in a crash.
Crews responded to the scene to find at least one person injured as well as several horses entrapped.
Cranberry Volunteer Firefighters say that they removed the hinge pins of the dividers with the help of the owners to keep the horses calm.
VFD officials also say that the horses were doing well after the incident and that an equine veterinarian was on scene to help treat the horses.
