The Pennsylvania Game Commission will be adjusting its late season pheasant stockings.
Officials say they over the next two weeks, the Game Commission will be releasing fewer pheasants statewide than initially planned.
The decision comes after the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) was found on a private farm in Northumberland County.
The pheasants that are released by the Game Commission are not from that farm, but still come from a farm in Northumberland County.
Officials believe this move will ensure a successful 2024-25 hunting season.
