Previous projections in Butler County had strong snow throughout the weekend but update models may only see a few inches.
David Schallenberger is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service and he said due to the changing directions of the storm there will be less snow than anticipated.
“The low-pressure center took a further southeast track, so we’re looking at probably less snow,” Schallenberger said. “In fact, we’re looking at probabilities now that are more favorable for one to two inches.”
There is a possibility that the snow reroutes more north, but Schallenberger thinks that is unlikely.
“Usually when it starts trending that way, there may be a little wobble back to the north, but it will likely stay a southern trend at this point,” Schallenberger said.
Schallenberger also says that he doesn’t believe the snow storm will be a winter weather advisory.
