After two years without students, plans to transfer ownership of the Butler Middle School are again progressing.
At their meeting earlier this week, Butler School Board members were informed by Superintendent Dr. Brian White that the Butler County Redevelopment Authority has a plan to take possession of the property in order to create development.
The non-profit Pittsburgh Gateways Corporation had been involved with a plan to turn the structure into a “multi-use training and business facility” but now they are only participating in an advisory capacity for the Community Development Corporation.
This proposal is expected to move on to solicitor review and board consideration within a few of weeks.
