The Chicago White Sox completed the three game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday with a 7-2 win. Andrew Heaney allowed seven runs and nine hits in four innings. The Pirates have now lost 11 of their last 12 games, and were outscored 27 to 7 in the series.
Andrew McCutchen had a 9th inning double, which tied him with Willie Stargell on MLB’s all-time hit list at 2,322.
The Pirates will host the Detroit Tigers tonight, who are tied with the best record in baseball. Paul Skenes will get his first start since the All-Star break as he faces Jack Flaherty. First pitch at 6:40 p.m.
