The San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-1 last night at PNC Park. Rookie pitcher Mike Burrows gave up three home runs in his start. He allowed six earned runs over 4-2/3rd innings. His record fell to 1-4.
It was the first win for the Giants in five games against the Pirates this season. All nine batters in the San Francisco lineup had hits. The Pirates had seven hits, but struck out 13 times. Bryan Reynolds and Jack Suwinski had doubles.
The Bucs and Giants complete their series this afternoon at 12:35pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 12:10pm. Andrew Heaney starts for the Pirates.
