Denny Hamlin won from the pole position Sunday at the World Wide Technologies Raceway in Illinois. It was Hamlin’s series-leading fifth win of the Cup Series season, and 59th career victory. He joined Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Chase Briscoe in clinching a spot in the second round of the Nascar playoffs. The drivers will race under the lights this Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. After this weekend’s race, the playoff driver field will be cut to 12.
