The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 in 11-innings last night. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Bucs.
Tommy Pham hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to force the extra frames after both teams had opened the game with a run each in the first inning. The Orioles scored the walk-off with a hit just inside the foul line in left field in front of a diving Pham for the victory. The play was initially ruled a foul ball, before being overturned.
The Pirates left nine men on base, going 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. The Orioles left 11 men on base, but still won the game.
The two teams play again tonight at 6:35pm. Paul Skenes will take the mound for the Pirates. He is 10-9 with a major-league best 1.98 ERA. WISR pre-game is 6:10pm.
