The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Detroit Tigers 3-1 last night in Bradenton. Braxton Ashcraft pitched into the sixth inning for the Bucs. He allowed one unearned run on five hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out eight. Tyler Callihan led the Pirates with two hits, including his second home run of Grapefruit League play.
The Pirates visit Baltimore in Sarasota for another night game tonight at 6:05pm. Their regular season begins a week from today in New York.
