The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 8-3 Wednesday afternoon. Paul Skenes earned his first victory of the season, allowing one run on three hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out five.
Oneil Cruz and Bryan Reynolds hit home runs for the second straight day. Cruz drove in three runs. Reynolds and Nick Gonzales both had two RBI’s.
The Pirates are off today. They host the Baltimore Orioles for a weekend series, including their home opener Friday at PNC Park.
Mitch Keller will start the home opener for the Bucs. Game time is 4:12pm. Pirates pregame is 3:45pm.
