The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 1-0 in overtime last night to win their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoff Series 4-2. The Flyers Cam York scored his first goal of the series 17 minutes and 32 seconds into the extra period. Goaltender Arturs Silovs 31 of 32 shots in net for the Penguins, but was bested by Philadelphia’s Dan Vladar, who stopped all 42 Penguins shots.
The Flyers move on to meet Carolina in the Second Round.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins open the Calder Cup Playoffs at home tonight when they face-off against Hershey at 7:05pm. These are a best-of-five format. The Penguins top affiliate in the American Hockey League are the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
