The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 7-6 in extra innings to the San Francisco Giants yesterday. The Pirates took a two-run lead in the top of the 10th inning on a Spencer Horwitz double, but that lead was surrendered in the bottom half of the inning.
Reliever Justin Lawrence took the loss, allowing a run in the bottom of the 12th.
The Pirates went 3-3 on the west coast road trip and will return to action tomorrow when they host the Colorado Rockies.
The Pirates are moving star pitching prospect Seth Hernandez up to High-A Greensboro. Hernandez went 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA in Low-A Bradenton.
