A Michigan woman who was accused of breaking into cars across the northeast, including in Butler in 2023, pled guilty and was sentenced late last week.
On Thursday, 41-year-old Rachel Duncan of Niles, pled guilty to five counts of identity theft.
According to charging documents, Duncan broke into vehicles and stole wallets, purses, credit cards, and IDs. She committed this crime at an athletic club in Middlesex Township in March of 2023.
She was sentenced to 12 months or probation and will have to pay $2,500 in fines, fees, restitution, and cost of prosecution.
