Butler City Police are working to get the word out about their zero tolerance policy of electric scooters and e-bikes.
In a flyer posted to the City’s website, police say that a concerning rise of electric scooter and e-bike incidents in the area have led to serious injuries.
Enforcement will be strict for the following rules: electric scooters operated on public roadways will be prohibited, scooters and e-bikes may be confiscated, and officers will issue citations. E-bike users must follow all traffic laws including lights at night.
Police also note that parents are responsible for the consequences of children who ride electric scooters or e-bikes.
