A warrant has been issued for a New York man accused of stealing $3,000 in items from a hardware store in Cranberry Township.
Last month, police were contacted by Home Depot employees regarding $2,957 in stolen items that happened days prior.
The investigation found that 26-year-old Carlos De La Cruz used an account that was not his to pay for the items. De La Cruz gave the workers account information which included a name, phone number, and an email.
The transaction was flagged as fraudulent and De La Cruz then left the store with the unpaid merchandise.
De La Cruz was charged was identity theft and theft by deception.
