An Ohio man accused of fleeing from police is facing charges in Butler County after a car chase in Franklin Township.
Early morning Saturday, officers spotted a vehicle going 80-mph at the intersection of 422 East and Eagle Mill Road, which is a 45-mph zone.
According to charging documents, when police attempted to pull over the vehicle they stopped and as officers approached, the vehicle it took off and a pursuit began. It’s alleged at one point the vehicle was traveling as fast as 120-mph.
The driver then pulled over and tried to escape on foot on Cornetti Road but was eventually taken into custody. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Camron James of Youngstown.
James is facing several charges including fleeing or attempting to elude police, evading arrest on foot, a DUI, and several more driving offenses.
He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $40,000 bond but posted the bail and was released.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 5.
