High school sports scores from Wednesday:
Girls Volleyball:
–Freeport-3 Clarion-Limestone-1. The Yellow Jackets are considered the #1-ranked team in Class 3A. Clarion-Limestone is ranked fourth in the state in Class 2A. Freeport fell 16-25 in the opening set, then came back to sweep the next three sets 25-11, 25-14 and 25-19.
Girls Soccer:
–North Allegheny-3 Butler-0.
–Seneca Valley-4 North Hills-0.
–Shaler-3 Knoch-0.
–Mars-7 Ambridge-0. Jade Breese scored twice for Mars and had two assists. Katie Blake also scored twice. Mars is now 5-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in their section.
–Freeport-11 Highlands-0.
–North Catholic-3 Deer Lakes-0. Megan Heinbach scored twice for the Trojanettes, who are now 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in their section.
Boys Soccer:
–Slippery Rock-9 Conneaut-1.
Boys Golf:
–Mars-186 Butler-206. Finn McKenzie led Mars at Stonecrest with a 35. Luka Zatchey with a 36. Casey Kleinfelder with a 37. Levi McClelland and Isaac Miller led Butler with 40’s.
Girls Golf:
–North Allegheny-179 Butler-226.
