College Football begins this week — and there is a top-25 game tonight – when #25-ranked Boise State travels to South Florida at 5:30pm.
Pitt and Penn State open their seasons this weekend. #2-ranked Penn State will host Nevada Saturday at 3:30pm. (The Nittany Lions are favored by 44-1/2). Pitt will host Duquesne at Acrisure Stadium beginning at noon Saturday.
West Virginia welcomes the return of head coach Rich Rodriguez Saturday when they host Robert Morris at 2pm in Morgantown.
A big game looms Saturday – when #1-ranked Texas travels to #3-ranked Ohio State at noon.
Also: #4-ranked Clemson opens against #9-ranked LSU at 7:30pm Saturday.
Sunday night – #6-ranked Notre Dame will travel to #10-ranked Miami at 7:30pm.
The Slippery Rock University football team open the season ranked #4 in the nation at the Division II level – and begin their season in New Hampshire next Friday (September 5th) at Franklin Pierce. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm beginning with the Coach Shawn Lutz Show at 5:30pm. Kick-off is 6pm.
The Rock will follow that opening game with three consecutive Saturday night games at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
