Carson Hocevar won his first Nascar Cup Series race Sunday during a crash-marred event at Talladega Superspeedway. He outdueled Chris Buescher with a last-lap pass for the win. 26 of the 40 cars in the race were involved in an early crash. The 23-year old from Michigan joined Ty Gibbs as first-time winners this season. The drivers head to Texas Motor Speedway this Sunday.
Also at Talladega over the weekend, Steve O’Donnell was announced as Nascar’s new Chief Executive Officer. He is taking over for Jim France, who is stepping down as CEO, but will remain the Nascar chairman. O’Donnell becomes the first non-member of the France family to take over the CEO role.
