Dick “Ducky” Schofield, an infielder who was part of the Pittsburgh Pirates 1960 World Series team has died. He passed away July 11th at his home in Illinois at the age of 87. He helped the Bucs down the stretch of the regular season and early post-season in 1960 when Dick Groat suffered a wrist injury. Schofield didn’t play much in the World Series with the New York Yankees when Groat returned.
