MLB Playoffs:
–The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies following a 2-1 victory in 11-innings. A Philadelphia throwing error with two outs allowed the game-winning and series-ending run to score. It was just the second time in post-season history that a series ended with a walk-off error. The victory sends the defending world champions to the National League Championship Series.
–The Chicago Cubs forced a Game 5 with the Milwaukee Brewers in the other National League Divisional Series following a 6-0 shutout victory. Five Cubs pitchers held the Brewers to three hits in the game. The Cubs had three home runs in the victory, including a three-run shot in the first inning with two outs by Western Pennsylvania native Ian Happ. Game 5 moves to Milwaukee Saturday night. First pitch is 8:08pm. The game will be televised on TBS/TruTV and HBO Max. The winner will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.
–Tonight in Seattle is Game 5 of the American League Divisional Series between the Mariners and Detroit Tigers. First pitch is 8:08pm on Fox. Tonight’s winner will travel to meet Toronto in the American League Championship Series beginning with Game 1 Sunday night. Game time is 8:03pm, also on Fox.
