Last night in high school boys basketball – Moniteau defeated Karns City 49-41. With the loss, the Gremlins were eliminated from the post-season. Andrew Zepeda netted 19 points to lead the Warriors. Cole Johnston led Karns City with 17 points.
The Clarion boys defeated AC Valley 79-47.
Tonight in the District 9 playoffs:
–The top-seeded Karns City girls will meet Cranberry at Tippin Gymnasium of PennWest Clarion University. Tip-off is 7:30pm.
–Friday night – the Moniteau boys will face Clarion at 7:30pm, also at Tippin Gymnasium. Both games are semifinal round games.
The first games of the WPIAL basketball tournament begins today.
–The Mars boys will visit Latrobe tonight in the Class 5A preliminary round. Tip-off is 7pm.
The Knoch boys host East Allegheny Friday night. Tip-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:45pm.
