The Miami of Ohio men’s basketball team defeated SMU last night 89-79 in their opening game of the NCAA tournament. Despite entering the game 31-1 this season, they were made a #11 seed. They get #6-seed Tennessee next.
Also last night – Prairie View defeated Lehigh 67-55. They get defending national champion and #1-seed Florida Friday.
The full tournament gets underway today.
The women’s tournament opened last night with the first two games of their First Four. Nebraska ousted Richmond 75-66. Missouri State defeated Stephen F. Austin 85-75.
