The San Diego Padres defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-0 last night at PNC Park. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Pirates. For the Padres, it was their third straight win.
The Bucs had seven hits in the game, but just one for extra-bases. They stranded nine runners on base, and went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Bubba Chandler took the loss. He allowed three earned runs on five hits over 4-1/3rd innings. He walked four and struck out four.
Konnor Griffin went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the game. He is hitless in 10 at-bats since opening his major league career with a double last Friday.
The Bucs and Padres play again tonight at 6:40pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:15pm. Paul Skenes will start for the Pirates, who are now 6-4 this season.
