The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-0 Sunday afternoon at PPG Paints Arena. Arturs Silovs stopped all 22 shots from Vegas in the game, and the Pens scored twice on power plays. The Pens have earned five points in the three games since returning from the Olympic break.
The Pens blew a 2-0 lead Saturday and lost in a shootout to the New York Rangers. They are now 1-8 this season in shootouts.
The Penguins have another busy week. They visit Boston Tuesday, then begin a three-game homestand Thursday when they host Buffalo. The Pens have back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday. They host Philadelphia Saturday evening and Boston late Sunday afternoon. Currently, the Penguins are tied with the New York Islanders for second place in the Metropolitan Division, but the Pens have played two less games. 23 games remain in the regular season.
