The Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Rangers tonight for Game 6 of their Stanley Cup Playoff Series. A Penguins win sends them into the second round. A loss will send them back to Madison Square Garden for a Game 7 Sunday night. Face-off tonight at PPG Paints Arena is 7pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:30pm.
Sidney Crosby’s status is unknown after he left Game 5 with an “upper body injury”.
NHL Playoffs last night:
–Tampa Bay remained alive with a 4-3 victory over Toronto, forcing a Game 7 Saturday in Toronto.
–Boston also avoided elimination following a 5-2 victory over Carolina. The Bruins and Hurricanes will also play a Game 7 Saturday in Carolina.
–St. Louis closed out their series with Minnesota following a 5-1 victory last night. The Blues eliminated the Wild 4-2.
–Edmonton tied their series with the Los Angeles Kings at 3-3 with a 4-2 victory last night.
The finalists for the Hart Trophy, given to the NHL’s Most Valuable Player are Toronto center Auston Matthews, Edmonton center Connor McDavid and New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin, who is also a Vezina Trophy finalist. Matthews won the Maurice Richard Trophy for most goals with 60. McDavid won the Art Ross Trophy for the most points in the league.
