The Pittsburgh Penguins returned to NHL play last night with a 4-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils, despite missing captain Sidney Crosby. Tommy Novak opened the scoring for the Penguins with a first period power-play goal, assisted by Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. Malkin had two assists in the game. The Pens scored three goals in the third period, including an empty-net goal late. Arturs Silov stopped 28 of 29 shots in net for the Penguins, who won their 30th game of the season.
The Pens visit former head coach Mike Sullivan and his New York Rangers Saturday for a 12:30pm face-off. Pre-game on WISR is noon. The game is being nationally televised on ABC.
The Pens return home after the game and will host the Vegas Golden Knights Sunday at 1pm. WISR pre-game at 12:30pm.
