The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New York Islanders 4-3 last night in their home opener at PPG Paints Arena. Justin Brazeau scored his second-straight game-winning goal when he scored with just over five minutes remaining in the game. Sidney Crosby and Rickard Rakell both scored on power plays during the game. Evgeni Malkin scored and had three points. Goaltender Tristan Jarry stopped 34 shots for the Penguins.
The 2-0 Pens host the New York Rangers Saturday night for a 7pm face-off. WISR pre-game begins at 6:30pm.
The Rangers earned former Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan his first win as their head coach with a 4-0 win in Buffalo Thursday.
