The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 5-3 win last night at PNC Park. Starter Paul Skenes threw six innings of scoreless baseball, striking out eight and walking one. He dropped his season ERA to 1.98, the lowest in the National League.
Colin Holderman recorded the save for the Bucs after Dauri Moreta allowed three runs in the 9th.
Jared Triolo and Bryan Reynolds continued their strong stretch with multi-hit games. Nick Yorke also hit for two RBIs in the game.
The Pittsburgh Pirates host the Milwaukee Brewers for a weekend series at PNC Park. The Friday and Saturday games begin at 6:40pm. Sunday starts at 1:35 p.m.
