The Pittsburgh Pirates will face the Cincinnati Reds tonight as the NL Wild Card race heats up. Currently, the Reds hold the third and final wild card spot. The Bucs also called up left handed pitcher Hunter Barco from AAA. Barco is rated as the Pirates fourth best prospect. The 24-year-old had a 2.81 ERA with both Altoona and Indianapolis.
Meanwhile, Pirates top prospect Konnor Griffin was named Baseball America’s Minor League Baseball Player of the Year.
