The Boston Red Sox defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-3 last night at PNC Park. Rookie Roansy Contreras allowed four earned runs on six hits over six innings. He allowed three of those runs in the second inning. The Pirates bullpen allowed the other four Red Sox runs. Bryan Reynolds had two of the Pirates six hits, including his 18th home run of the season.
It was the Pirates sixth straight loss.
The Bucs and Red Sox complete their three-game series tonight at 7:05pm. WISR pre-game begins at 6:40pm.
