Surrounding their first full-squad workout of spring training Monday, the Pittsburgh Pirates designated-for-assignment outfielder Jack Suwinski. The move was made to make room on the team’s 40-man roster for newly-signed free agent designated hitter Marcel Ozuna. Suwinski hit a combined 45 home runs in 2023 and 2024, but batted just .182 in 2024. That average fell to .147 in 2025. He signed a one-year $1.25 million contract to avoid arbitration last fall.
