The San Francisco Giants completed a three-game series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates with an 8-7 win Sunday. The Bucs came back twice in the game, including taking a 7-6 lead in the ninth. Reliever Wil Crowe could not close out the game, allowing the Giants two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Bryan Reynolds had three hits, driving in five of the Pirates runs. He hit his 17th home run of the season in the game.
The Pirates are now 45-70 overall with 47 games remaining. They went 2-8 on the 10-game road trip, and have gone 6-16 since the All-Star break.
The Bucs are off today, and will host the Boston Red Sox for three games beginning Tuesday. Boston just took two of three games from the New York Yankees over the weekend.
