The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles 8-1 Sunday afternoon and avoided a series sweep. The Bucs scored all eight runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, while starting pitcher Bryse Wilson allowed just a run on four hits over five innings of work. He picked up his second win of the season. Ke’Bryan Hayes hit his sixth home run of the season and Bryan Reynolds and Greg Allen both scored twice.
The Pirates are now 2-11 all-time at Baltimore’s Camden Yards. They fell 1-0 Friday night and 6-3 Saturday to the Orioles before Sunday’s victory.
The Pirates are now in Arizona to begin a four-game series tonight. First pitch will be 9:40pm. WISR pre-game is 9:15pm.
