State lawmakers are looking to bring a federal law to Pennsylvania to help hold those who commit crimes with guns more responsible.
Federal law currently bans devices know as a “glock switch” or a “switch” that can allow a pistol to shoot up to 1,200 rounds per minutes according to the bill’s memo.
Lawmakers in Harrisburg are looking to now ban all “machine gun conversion devices, including switches, bump stocks, and similar devices to help assist local law enforcement.
The bill first passed through the house judiciary committee by a vote of 14-12 that fell along party lines. The bill is now eligible for a house floor vote before a vote with senate committees.
Chief of Police Justin McIntire of the Brackenridge Borough Police Department was shot and killed due to this device.
