SRU running back Jay Jay Jordan was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division Offensive Athlete of the Week after he ran for 189 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries in The Rock’s win over Seton Hill. Through six games, the junior from Reading, leads the state in all rushing categories, and is second in Division II in all-purpose yards and yards per rush. He is averaging 9.2 yards per carry.
Despite their dominating 49-7 victory Saturday over Seton Hill, the Slippery Rock University football team fell a spot to #25 in the latest American Football Coaches Association poll this week. The Rock remains one of two PSAC teams still ranked inside the top-25 this week, after California fell out of the rankings following their second-straight loss. Kutztown remains ranked #4.
Slippery Rock will meet 4-1, but unranked, IUP for their Homecoming Game at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium this Saturday at 1pm.
