The Slippery Rock football team scored two touchdowns in the final five minutes to force overtime, then defeated Shepherd 35-28 Saturday night.
It was The Rock’s 36th night-game victory in a row, and 28th night-win in a row at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Redshirt-freshman quarterback Da’One Owens entered the game in that fourth quarter and led The Rock to their final three touchdowns. Owens relieved starting quarterback Anthony Vespo, who turned the ball over four times during the game. The Rock will host Shippensburg this Saturday night.
