The Slippery Rock University men’s and women’s basketball teams hosted a “White-Out” night at Morrow Field House last night when they hosted Clarion. The Rock men won an exciting game 80-78. The Rock improved to 15-8 overall, and 8-7 in the PSAC. Clarion fell to 11-12 and 6-9 in league competition. The victory put Slippery Rock in sole possession of fourth place in the PSAC West standings with five games left in the regular season.
The top six teams qualify for the PSAC Tournament, with the #3 and #4 seeds receiving first-round home games. Additionally, The Rock is now assured of a winning season for the 16th time in their last 17 seasons, including all seven under current head coach Ian Grady.
The Rock women also earned a key 78-72 victory over Clarion, and moved to within one spot of a playoff spot.
Both Slippery Rock teams visit IUP Saturday afternoon.
