Two Pittsburgh Pirates are finalists for Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Jared Triolo is a repeat finalist for Utilityman. He won the award last year. Tommy Pham is a finalist for left field. He is one of three finalists, including Mt. Lebanon native Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs.
Former Pirate third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes is a finalist at third base. Hayes was traded to Cincinnati in July.
MLB Playoffs:
–The Toronto Blue Jays hit five home runs and four doubles in a 13-4 rout of the Seattle Mariners last night. After going hitless in the first two games of the series, Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. had four hits, including one of the home runs and two of the doubles. Toronto scored a combined 12 runs over the third through sixth inning of the game. Seattle hit three home runs in the loss, but still lead the American League Championship Series 2-1 heading into Game 4 tonight at 8:33pm. The game will be televised on FS1.
–Game 3 of the National League Championship Series will be played in Los Angeles between the Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers. First pitch is 6:08pm. The game will be televised on TBS/TruTv and HBO Max. The Dodgers lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.
