A trial set for mid-May for a criminal homicide case involving an accidental shooting has been delayed due to legal complexities.
Jury selection was scheduled to begin on May 14 in the case of 33-year-old Jeremey Sickenberger of Edinburg but due to legal complexities the start of the trial could be delayed to this fall.
Sickenberger is accused of accidentally shooting and killing Thomas Stockman in 2014. In 2016, Sickenberger was found guilty but the Pennsylvania Superior Court would later order Sickenberger be retried due to an inadequate defense in the first trial.
Complexities in the first trial and the a retrial have caused the delays.
Sickenberger is currently out on bail as he awaits his retrial.
